Desert Goddess Pendant - chosen by Etsy :)
I logged into my Art by Susmitha account today and saw a convo from an etsy admin saying that my Desert Goddess Pendant was chosen by Etsy's blog editors for their Holiday voting on the best sparkly special jewelry!
Here's a link to The Storque Article which talks more about the voting and contains a link to The Voting Page.
I am so freaking thrilled!! :) :) :)
Voting ends on Friday. Please, please vote for me and also spread the word (you need to be logged into etsy to vote).

Veganosaurus
A new store for a new year! :)
For my Birthday in November, I decided to start a new store just for my miniature clay sculptures. It's called Veganosaurus and is filled with miniature critters, monsters and the one and only Veganosaurus Jack!
I discovered a fabulous new material called iClay and have been thoroughly enjoying creating with it!! The colors are so happy and bright! :)
It is slightly different from polymer clay and each clay has its own set of benefits. So I will of course continue to create with my beloved polyclay but I'm also happy and grateful to have stumbled upon this new medium.
Here are a few of the many things I've been making (with both kinds of clay). Some at the store, some yet to be listed and some already sold:
Veganosaurs Jack
Spiff - The Friendly Cyclops
Taffyclops
Selena the Snail
Strawberrygum
Buzz the Stargazer
Mr.Bamboostic
Myrtle the Purple Turtle
So kiss me...

Roses are forever
Roses are forever
Click on the picture to be taken to the listing for this necklace in my store.
This necklace is a new style that I tried and it turned out to be one of my favorite pieces! Simple and elegant.
Two of my 18 mm pink ruffled roses are attached to the ends of a satin ribbon and one large 27 mm pink ruffled rose forms the focal on the ribbon. This large rose can be moved up and down along the ribbon to adjust the size of the necklace.
You just move the large rose to the bottom edge (close to the two other roses) and slip the 24 inch necklace over your head, then you move the large rose up towards your neck to adjust the fit of the necklace. And just with this simple movement you can wear this necklace in many different styles - as a choker, a long necklace or with the 2 smaller roses hanging at different levels by pulling one end of the ribbon lower than the other... My personal favorite is to pull the rose up right to the neck, comfortably cradled in the little depression above the collar bone.
The hole on the large rose is just snug enough to make its movement on the ribbon smooth and also ensure it stays exactly where you left it. The two roses in the end are tightly attached so they won't come off. First they were knotted there, then the knot was secured with jeweler's glue and finally wrapped with copper wire.
If you'd like this necklace with different colored roses, you are most welcome to convo me and I'll try to create something to your taste. Also, I am happy to make custom colored roses for your own jewelry creations and other crafts.

September 2008 Sale at artbysusmitha
September Sale: EFA Birthday bash (20% off--and not just in my shop!)
From Sept. 15th-30th I'll be participating in the EtsyForAnimals Team's birthday bash--along with over 120 other shops! (you can find all the participants on the efa website here)--which means you can use my coupon code, SUSMI, to get 20% off your order (excluding shipping) in ANY of these shops during that time. You can even use it in all 120+ shops if you're feeling sales crazy (though you can only use it in each shop once, so make sure you get everything you want in that trip).
All you have to do to use the coupon is put "efa birthday bash coupon code SUSMI" in the notes to seller for ANY participating shop and then either wait for a revised invoice or pay and get a refund. There will be different codes for every shop keeper so we can keep track of who brings the most people to the sale (winner gets a special prize from EFA - $50 will be donated to their favorite charity, mine is the Visakha SPCA Cow Sanctuary), so if I'm the first person you've heard about this from then use my code in any participating stores--but if you got someone else's code first, then use theirs. Oh--and you can feel free to pass my code on to anyone else you know who might enjoy this sale. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Hestia - copper bangle bracelet
Hestia is the Greek goddess of the hearth and home. She presides over all domestic life. She represents security and happiness. She is a virgin-goddess and the gentlest, kindest and mildest of all the Olympian Gods. She had no throne but every hearth on Earth is her altar.
This 18 gauge coiled copper wire bangle, my ode to Hestia, has delicate copper wire vines, yellow polymer clay rose buds and jade beads.
Approximately 7 1/2 inches (fits a 6-7 inch wrist well).
An exclusive, unique piece of art from me to you, as always.
The jade has been charged with positive Reiki energy to enhance its mystical properties.
Available for sale at my etsy store Art by Susmitha. Click on the picture to be directly taken to the listing and read more about this bangle bracelet.

Escape From Illusion - Necklace
Escape from Illusion Necklace
The Dragonfly symbolizes going past self-created illusions that limit our growth. Their many splendid colors cause them to be associated with color mysticism and the power of light. They remind us that we are beings of light and can harness this power of light reflection in any way we choose.
Size of focal piece:-
Length (including dangles) - 3 3/4 inches (98 mm)
Width (at widest point) - approx 2 inches (52 mm)
Necklace size:- Adjustable (the black chord can be slipped over the head and the small blue glass bead can be moved up and down the chord to adjust the length of the necklace around your neck).
Available for sale at my etsy store Art by Susmitha. Click on the picture to be directly taken to the listing and read more about this necklace.

Froggies swarm Tribal Route
I'm back in touch with the good froggies at Tribal Route and they recently asked me to make them a bunch of little froggies to add to their family. Made 20+ frogs in 2 days (dunno how I managed that!) and sent them off, but not before saving a couple for myself :)

Reiki Charged Gemstone Pendants
It all started with me running an errand for my mum. She wanted me to visit my gemstone/crystal guy and grab a couple of specific healing/protective crystals for my dad and sis. I always dread going to the guy... because if I do I end up blowing a LOT of cash in his store!!! Well this time I decided that I would walk in, pick up only what she asked for and walk out. And just to be safe, I'd carry only a little bit of cash. Can't possible spend what I don't have right? Ha! That's what I thought!!
Well, to cut a long story short, I came back home with a mother load of gemstone beads and cabs... hey what can a girl do if gorgeous beadies are offered to her at great prices??? Don't ask me how I managed to fish out the money for everything =oP
Anyways, here is the outcome of that shopping binge :)
I embedded the gemstone cabochons in polymer clay and created pendants. As always, I have charged each pendant with Reiki to enhance the metaphysical properties of the crystals used.
Love Knot - Rose Quartz
Moon River - Lapis Lapiz and Moonstone
Glimpse Into The Past - Labradorite
Mirror Of The Soul - Aventurine
Flecks Of Clarity - Rutilated Quartz
Queen Of The Nile - Lapis Lazuli
